I am Surekha Raman, a resident of Mira Road. To understand the background of the complaint I would like to mention that my parents have been looking for proposals for my marriage and for this they have been releasing ads in newspapers in search of future prospects. Last week (around June 2nd week) we received a call from a lady who said she is calling us from trichur and introduce us by saying that she has a good proposal in hand and we need to look into it and asked my mother for the email id, which my mother provided. This lady, who later mentioned her name as Suchita, sent us 2 profiles. The 2 profiles were impressive as the one was of a sofware engineer from bangalore and the other guy settled in London. We told her the bangalore profile was ok since the london prospect was a widower as were told. She the asked us to send my details for forwarding the same to the prospect. We did as were asked to, after that she called us to say that the guy from bangalore is ok with the the details and the photo and to contact them we need to pay 2000 rs. My eager parents under the impression that everything has worked out paid the amount as brokerage (est. on 13th June) through internet banking after verifying her email id and website (as mentioned below). We called her to confirm that the payment has been made. She said she will revert immediately and my parents waited anxiously for the contact details. When we dint receive her call my mother tried to call but there was no response whatsoever. It was only the next day after many attempts that she picked the call. When we asked her why our call was not being answered and we were taken aback when she answered back saying that they have many more customers to deal with and she cant entertain calls so often. And when we asked about the prospect we spoke about earlier she said they were not interested since the stars were not matching. We were really shocked as my mother had already checked these details and only after that she had sent my details.

To our utter dismay the lady then asked us to note some details like user name and password and start to check for the matching profiles. We were really upset by this breach of trust. Moreover when we looked into their website we hardly found any matching profiles. This has really upset my parents mainly coz they not only duped us of our money but also for the breach of trust. We had not paid for getting the user name and password as we have many reputed matrimonial sites with thousands of profiles with almost the same amount as fees.we could have opted for these reputed sites rather than going for their untrustable services. We asked them to refund our money we had paid but they answered that it was registration amount which is non-refundable. Hoping these culprits are taught a lesson for duping people like us in the pretext of fake proposals and for the breach of trust. Kindly revert if any further details are required.

We were made to believe that the proposal was almost on the final stage and the only way to go ahead was by paying the amount of 2000 Rs. We have been caused breach of trust and also an amount of 2000 Rs was duped from us which they later termed as Registration fees
