Chevrolet,DEFECTIVE TYRES

I had purchased a Chevrolet Car, Model Beat LT Diesel bearing Regn. No. DL-9CT-4644 through their dealer Metro Motors Pvt. Ltd., Vasant Kunj, New Delhi during October, 2011. In March, 2013, I noticed a crack in one of the tyres but I did not take it seriously and the same was replace with the spare tyre. However, to my shock & surprise, again on 10th July, 2013, I noticed that there were cracks on another tyre. I decided to approach the nearest dealer of Chevrolet, M/s. Shiva Motors, Sahibabad, UP who advised us to take up the matter with the manufacturer of tyre viz. Good Year Tyres Ltd. I lodged a complaint with Good Year Tyres on 15.07.2013 vide Complaint No. Q1507130073 and the representative of the tyre company has washed off their hands by simply refusing to replace tyre by stating that the cracks have been developed through external object/ road hazards. I fail to understand how two tyres can develop the same problem within a period of 18 months. This indirectly means that either the quality of the tyres are very poor or there is serious manufacturing defect. I feel that they are cheating the customers by providing fictitious warranty and there is no point in providing the warranty if the company is finding excuses to reject the requests of each customer for replacement. It is pertinent to mention here that I am only person using the car and it has just covered about 17000 kms. only. The terms external objects/ road hazards are very general terms and they have not explained the reasons for the crack to me in a convincing manner. Now after spending hundreds of rupees and my sparing my time for approaching the various parties, I am not able to get my get grievance resolved. While on the subject, even though I lodged the complaint through M/s. Shiva Motors, their representative asked me to visit the office of another dealer viz. Vaishali Tyre Shoppe. Now, I am left with no option to spend another Rs.8,000/- on purchase of two new tyres. Kindly advise M/s. Chevrolet company to intervene in the matter and arrange for replacing the tyres immediately while arranging to check the defective tyre by qualified personnel in the factory rather than getting it checked by local mechanics. Kindly advise M/s. Chevrolet company to intervene in the matter and arrange for replacing the tyres immediately while arranging to check the defective tyre by qualified personnel in the factory rather than getting it checked by local mechanics.
