Complaint against Videocon Service

We purchased a Videocon LCD Television from Adishwars, Jayanagar Bangalore on July 26th 2009. In March of 2010 there was a problem with the TV. The TV was not displaying the picture. We called the Videocon Service Center to attend to the problem. After a couple of calls a technician arrived (this was in second week of March)
He checked the TV and said he did not have the right parts and the parts will be ordered and the TV can be fixed.

Even after more than a hundred calls from second week of March to first week of April nobody came to fix the TV. When we call they would say we have ordered the parts. But after a couple of calls they said technician will be there today or tomorrow and so on in spite of telling them that it needs to be fixed before we leave for vacation. But the technician never came. We were away for summer vacation from first week of April to second week of May.

After returning on May 12th we immediately called Videocon but after several replies saying “Technician will be there today” he came after a week sometime during May 20th. This time we thought finally our TV will be fixed but once again it was the same story. He tried fixing it and said he did not have the right parts (It was the same technician that had come earlier. Mr. Sridhar). We were furious since he was saying the same thing again. We called another contact person Mr. Santosh and Ms. Veena and said we needed a replacement TV if they could not fix it. Just to get away from us they said they would try it and asked us the copy of warranty and the bill. But we never heard from them about replacement or about the service.

After several calls to Mr. Santosh he informed us the technician has the boards (power supply board) and he will come and attend it. But he still hasn’t come after 10 days.

When we call them just to get away from us these are the answers they give us

1. We will discuss and call you back
2. Technician will be there today or
3. They never pick up the phone

I do not mind if they tell me parts will be there in a week of even a month, but don’t tell me it will be there today and do not show up for a month. I am frustrated with the service and feel like I am fighting a loosing battle with them.

I would like to register this to the Consumer Redressal Forum about their callousness in service and I have been left with no other option. Please address this issue and I hoping this issue to be resolve immediately.
