Customer service rep issue

Hi Team,

I had called customer service rep dated 26/12/2011 around 9:45PM. An customer rep named Syed attended my call to answer balance related queries. Even though the query was simple, to answer why the balance check *123# was not working, he asked to try *121*2# as I might try it on same mobile on which I was taking, he expected me to disconnect. When I said it was not working trying it on other mobile, he said will raise it to his manager and asked to disconnect. I expected ETA on the same and he asked to disconnect again. When I said it was bad and asked to speak to his manager he said he will not be available now and asked to disconnect. I was hesitant to disconnect as I knew this will not be carried forward, he disconnected my call.

Next rep who attended just said that manager will not be available after 9PM and asked to call before this.

My questions are below:
– Is this a way to speak to customer?
– What does the word professionalism meant to Airtel reps?
– Why was my call cut?
– Even though I could hear Syed’s manager speaking behind why was the call not transferred?
– Why did his manager not care about his way of communication?
– If there was no resolution to the balance issue, he could have been transparent informing the same, why was this not done?
– If managers timings of attending the call was limited, why this not intimated to us earlier?

I have been with Airtel for some years now and expect an answer for this at least as a customer. My humble request to assist me with this issue.
