to bring to your kind notice an ethos-via laptop, i bought from aci in feb04 as 1st customers in india.that was badly defective with 25 big virus & crashed in 24hrs of purchase.we had initially cancelled this order in mar04 itself when even after full payment of 40,000/- ethos-v was not given to us for months instead aci screamed that they’ve not got any pay confirmation from me.when i asked for refund they forced me to buy the laptop.which again was defective. the whole motherboard, hd,battery, modemn, switch are all fully defective as warned by dealer after virus(as it gave health hazards like shocks,blasts).all administrators promised replacements, refunds in writing.but till date my laptop is lying in non-working state in aci office since purchase.they forced me to take 3yrs ppp support+ insurance(4000rs annually that ensures replacement/refund even if laptop damaged in plane crash for 5yrs)when i was already on full comprehensive waranty.&initially i was made to pay upto 40,000 for extra parts & now 20,000/- more for all defective part replacements inspite of insurance.newparts were again defective with big 16 ge-virus &crashed in 24hrs &yet no replacementment(when im on full insurance upto rs.40,000).ive spent upto a lakh for this that costs only rs.19000/-now.id run to&fro daily coz laptop crashes daily since purchase,& aci charge me for daily os upgrades also.for years laptop lies in their office than mine. all my time is spent on aci &my business is damaged.so is my health.now they don’t renew my ppp also&aci ask for more pay.i cant invest in aci &why shld i replace parts again &again &again,&when aci staffs been rude ¬ taking my calls,aci fone,email addrs has changed &aci don’t give me new nos.even website is closed.i took online consumer courts help in 08-09.aci has not replied to consumer court executive 08-09 also. they don’t revert. delay is from their end not mine.i’ve paid all dues on time & followed up daily evn from hospital during my chemotherapy.my dad expired & i cant travel on neuropathy.theyve even sent me a bookclosing in dec09 that i spent only rs.4000 ,ive spent 10times more.kindly look into this matter please help.
while our total purchase amount given by aci was rs.70,000/-,(for something which costs only rs19000/- in the market.) we made advance payment of rs.47,754/- only so far, we’ve insured laptop for rs 32,000/- only, we would be glad to claim our purchase amount (rs.47,754/-) we don’t want replacement.replacing machine (which costs only rs.19,000/- now) would not even justify our insured amount of rs.32,000/-. nor do we want to claim insurance amount since we had to pay more outside insurance for hardware repairs at purchase level for no reasons when we were already on full comprehensive waranty for 3yrs. details of payment as follows:- 1. in 2004 all the configuration cost rs.29,999/- in broacher,but we were asked to add some parts to this on extra payment(floppy disk drive, combo drive, insurance, installation cds were not present in machine) 2. one sodium slot 256mb ghz ddr ram instead of 128mb ram for rs.5000. 3. optical drive 5.25″/12.7mm cd-rom/dvd-rom/combo drive(dvd-rom+cd-rw)-rs.1500 4. carrybag for rs.500. total bill advance payment for rs.37,440/- was made in march 2004 to their dealers genesis infoserve pvt ltd. 5. later when defective laptop crashed in 24hrs i was asked to pay for ppp (pc protect plan) kit support- 2yr warranty+accident/theft insurance.(oriental insurance company):-rs.3,500 per annum.total amount paid rs.7000/-.i insured laptop for rs 32,000/- only,while we were already on waranty. 6. we paid for two new 20 gb slots for rs 2,500/- each though we were on full comprehensive waranty+insurance.both harddisk also had 16 virus & crashed. so total bill payment of rs.47,754/- was made at purchase. out of the rs.70,000/- bill sent after purchase, details as follows… 7. ppp support for rs.5,000/- per annum after 2 yrs, 8. defective battery replacement rs.5,000/-, 9. defective motherboard replacement rs.10,000/-, 10. defective windows os installation for rs.850/- daily when os track breaks, 11. onsite servicing for rs.500/- extra per visit. 12. two new 20 gb slots for rs 2,500/- each /or replacing this defective ethos with high end emberald by paying marginal fees (rs.5000/-) in exchange,-by admt mr.vishal. we havent paid this pending amount of rs.23,350/- plus.
