Excessive Billing on Vodafone International Roaming

My wife and self (BG RAWAL) were on a visit to Malaysia and Singapore from March 8 to April 14/14. Vodafone agency was requested to provide international roaming facilities to both of us on our mobile numbers, viz: 9820042151 (self) and 9820707820 (wife). It is our misfortune that we also requested for Internet 3G facility which resulted in the receipt of highly inflated bills for the months of March and April 2014.

We asked vodafone to re-examine as we were using Internet / wifi available there at our children’s places and never used Internet facility of vodafone or their associates in those countries. But they asked us to pay or face stoppage of outgoing services. They indeed stopped my mobile and I was forced to pay the amount of Rs. 2111/- though knowing fully well that bill was incorrect. Then again I received another bill for the month of April which is to the tune of Rs. 3763/- Now they are pressurizing me to pay the bill failing which they will stop my outgoing calls. Bowing to the pressure I had to pay an amount of Rs.1111/- so that the mobile does work. The same thing goes with my wife who also received a bill amounting to Rs. 2944.39. We had to pay Rs.1111/- in order to continue the mobile service. It would be interesting to note that I had asked the vodafone (111) to stop 3G on 27/4/14 but they did not stop it and disregarded my request. They did not inform me also. My wife also requested the vodafone to stop 3G but the request was ignored. Now we are being pressurized to make full payment. I being retired government officer and a senior citizen not ready to listen to their harsh words. It may be informed that in 2013 also I had visited Malaysia/Singapore in March/April 2013 and had received a highly inflated bill of more than Rs.7000/- which I had to pay as I did not know about this forum and also being a law abiding retired government officer. The bill should not include 3G charges which we did not utilise. We have paid an amount of Rs.1111/- each. The overcharged amount of more than Rs.7000/- paid in 2013 should also the reimbursed. I have email correspondences made with the co’s different representatives.
