I had booked 4 tickets for self and the family from Mumbai to Udaipur by IC 472 departing on 27th September 09 and from Udaipur to Mumbai by IC – 471 returning on 30th September 09 ( PNR ; RL78AM ). These tickets were booked on FF points taking advantage of 25% less redemption points for journey before 30th Sep 09.
Unfortunately due to strike by Air India Pilots, both the above mentioned flights were cancelled at the last moment. However I had no other option but to reach Udaipur since i had paid Rs. 25000/- for Hotel booking. So i bought 4 tickets on above dates from the kingfisher Airlines for onward journey at a cost of Rs. 24316.00 at the airport itself and Rs. 13916.00 for return journey.
The above expenditure of total Rs. 38232. 00 is because of deficiency in service provided by Air India. I had requested Air India to reimburse me this amount but they are refusing on the pretext that the tickets issued to me were on reward points.I would have rescheduled my journey if i was given sufficient notice and this excessive expenditure is totally due to mismanagement of Pilots by Air India.
