Firstcry.Com Sold Poor Quality Cradle – A Review in Agony

We bought a swinging cradle from Firstcry. It broke in 1 and a half months. My 2 month old daughter was in it when the rods holding the base of the cradle snapped and broke with the baby in it. She fell on the ground. Though she did not sustain any physical injury, she was in a state of shock and was crying inconsolably for hours. Its hard to imagine the trauma she (and both the parents, especially the mother) went through. I am appalled by the ridiculous product quality that we were given. I contacted your customer care division but got a very dismal and apathetic response. They just cited the 7-day return policy and said they couldn’t do anything.

My 2 month old daughter suffered a sudden shock when she hit the ground as the cradle broke. She kept howling for hours. Despite us trying to console her, nothing came of it. She still wakes up sometimes suddenly clamping her self, as if scared of falling down. Coughing continuously is also something she has started doing only after the incident. Its hard for us to put her into any cradle now as she is never really comfortable in them anymore. We cant read her mind, nor can she speak, but we can only add up the sequence of events. Clearly, the accident has left a scar on the little girl.

We want the following – 1. A written apology from the CEO of FirstCry India admitting to the poor quality of the product they sold us and the poor quality of their customer service. 2. Full refund of the amount we paid for the product. 3. INR 1,00,000 for the trauma caused to my daughter and us, her parents.
