Respected Sir,
I was introduce by Birla Sun Life company representative in the year 2006. We were interested in a single premium policy. He introduce us the above refer life insurance covered plans having a face amount of Rs.5 lacs and term rider of Rs. 5 lacs. Accordingly Rs.109282 was paid by myself and smaller policy premium of Rs.50958 for my elder son and approximate 56 thousand for my younger son.
It was clearly specified by the person that it is a single premium policy and if we have any spare money we can pay additional premium, but it is not compulsory. We were sign the blank form and the person collected the payment. We were not given the policy for atleast a month after making the payment. On the next year we receive a premium intemetion later. We call the same person and he told that it is not compulsory.
The policy issue date is 08/07/2006, after four years we receive a statement and very much surprise to note that the insured amount of Rs.109282 has been reduce to a substantial amount lost of more then 30 percent. While calling the Birla Sun Life ahmedabad office we told that the agent has cheated you while filling the blank form. The agent had made a tick mark not on a single premium but on a yearly premium just to gain his own commision on 12 to 15 percent on this used amount.
The person who introduce us this policy was non other, but a branch manager of HDFC bank, shivranjani cross road branch, ahmedabad-15. We tried to contact him but he has left hdfc bank and we do not leave he is where about.
This is the case of my family policy, but same type of policy was taken in the name of my two brother and one sister’s family. We are very much shocked and surprise for such type of cheating and company like birla sun life insurance do not give us any response.
