I purchased a Lenovo Essential B490 Laptop from Flipkart Order Number-OD30728000993, Invoice Dated 28/Jul/2013 for Rs.23499 which was delivered to me on 2/Aug. I opened the laptop on 7/Aug and installed Ubuntu OS to test the performance and found it slow. I took the laptop to service centre to add more RAM so it works faster. I was totally shocked to find what the service centre informed me: Flipkart claimed the following on their website:- 1) RAM extensible up to 8GB 2) USB version 3.0 – 2 numbers 3) USB version 2.0 – 2 numbers 4) RAM Slots 2 Numbers and 1 un-used. What I found in service centre was:- 1) RAM Extensible only up to 4GB 2) There is only 1 USB 3.0 port 3) There is only one RAM Slot available. This makes the laptop unusable for me because I use Virtual Machines to practise for my technical exams but with 4GB RAM I can not run the Virtual Machines. I called and emailed Flipkart several times with their webpages screenshot, Lenovo specs that I got from Service Center that clearly says the RAM is not extensible beyond 4GB. I also warned them to reach customer forum but they are not taking any action.

I want Flipkart to do the following:- 1)Give me a brand new laptop replacement that meets or exceeds the configuration that was mentioned on their website page. If they are unable to fulfil the laptop that meets the configuration mentioned on the website then I get to choose the laptop they will replace. 2)Pay damages for the time lost by me in studies which are expected to impact my scores in higher degree like MS Computer Science with a prestigious institute like BITS Pilani. 3)Pay damages for cheating customers online – This money I will give to charity for poor and deprived children to learn computers. I have all the bills, email communication threads and all the documents with me. I want Flipkart to learn from this incident and stop cheating customers.
