Gym Membership – faulty service refunded my money

I joined this Gym with a friend in the first week of Sep, paying INR15,000 for the both of us for 2 months (1st and the 6th month)membership fees, starting 15th Sep’13. I was made to sign a document giving them standing instructions to charge Months 2 to 5 (4 months) fees equalling ~7000/month (again for the two of us). We only went for 4 sessions all of them before the actual start date of 15th Sep’13. Then i faced some spinal problems and was on strict bed rest for a month , during which i had informed the Gym authorities to put my account on hold and that i shall resume whenever i am fit to join. They insisted me to come there personally to put in this request to which i told them , because of my health issues i would not be in a position to come there personally, and they ended up charging me ~13000 INR as 2 months of fees. Post my rehab i went to the gym after these 2 months to protest and instructed them in writing to not to further charge any fees on my card and to refund the fees already charged, to which they signed as well. I have a copy of the signed letter on the Gym letterhead. But worryingly, they still charged me again for ~7000 INR as another months fees. I again called them up to protest and spoke to Vikas Singh (Their Ops Manager), who said he will reverse these charges. However, i have been following up with him for over 2 weeks now, and all i have been hearing is excuses, that the charge has not been reversed for some or the other odd reason. As a consumer, i feel cheated and have ended up paying ~35,000 INR to this Gym who have no regard for their members.

I want the money to be refunded and also that the Gym suspend my Membership and not charge any further amount on my card..
