Hathway Broadband – Compensation for lack of action and inability to get

Hi, I am absolutely frustrated with the experience of getting new Hathway broadband connection in Wakad, Pune. I have lost enormous amount of time, effort and lost money in following up with them and depending on them for some of my and my wife’s critical online work. Till date i.e. after more than 1 month, internet is not installed along with gross negligence from Hathway and their installation departments even after repeated reminders via phone and email. On friday i.e 29th Nov 2013, a Hathway Broadband sales person named Rajkumar (cell no. 7757 001483) took all required documents and 2 cheques from me and promised to get the internet working by 30th Nov 11:00 am. He said that next day the internet will be started and then they will put my 2 cheques for processing after my consent. However, to my utter surprise (shock), no one came till 3 pm. Around 3p.m Suhas (Hathway installation person) came and then installed the cable from the hub to my home. However shocking was the fact that he did not even have a drilling tool to get the wire past the wall. I was amazed and shocked at how Hathway wants to project itself among new customers. What got me initially frustrated was that this sales person (Rajkumar) did not even pick the phone call since 30th Nov in order to get internet started after cable installation When i contacted Hathway customer care on 30th Nov and in initial part of first week of December, i was told that the user id was not even created. Almost mid next week, after myself following up with Hathway, i was told that the user id has been created and a network engineer will visit my home and then do the neccessary installation. Almost end of first week of December, a network engineer came and said that cable crimping was not properly by installation guy and he would inform the installation guy to do the same again. After 2 days the installation guy came again and did crimping again and then checked the cable and said that the cable seems to be faulty and needs replacement and he will go to terrace and pull the cable and put another one but then to my utter surprise after 10/15 min, came back and said that cable is ok, clearly visible was someone who had come with him and was urging him to come with him. After 2 days i.e. mid of 2nd week of December, the network installation guy came again, checked the cable and said that the cable is faulty and he will inform their installation partner to change the same. However this never hapenned. Since the start, i have sent innumerable emails, made long calls to their customer care number as well the various Hathway personnel to no avail. Mostly the personnel would not pick my call and once the installation guy picked up and said that he cant do anything. This is tremendously shocking behaviour from Hathway as a brand. I have wasted enormous amount of time, effort and money in following up on phone, email and in-person. Also my dependecy on Hathway and lining up of work has suffered as the internet has not started. My intestments in stock market also have suffered and i had to bear losses. My wife had taken some online projects which she could not execute due to Hathway and has suffered materially. On the lowest side, I would put Rs. 20,000 as the material loss to me due to Hathway’s actions and lack of the same. I would never ever go for their services anywhere in the country and would advise my friends and relatives to not go for the same as well.
