HDFC Life – False Promotions

HDFC Life Agent / Team Leader offered a plan on 29.11.12, viz “HDFC Life New Money Back Plan (Spl)” on which I was mutually agreed but provided another plan “HDFC SL Sampoorn Samridhi” without my knowledge & consent. They also told me about a month ending scheme and said I’ll get 20% (Rs. 6,000/-) cash back of first premium (Rs. 30,000/-) if I submit my proposal before 30.11.12. But it was a false promise to sell this product. HDFC Life Executive collected my proposal form alongwith Copy of PAN CARD (ID & DOB proof), Voter I-Card and Aadhar card (Address proof) and Cheque for Rs. 30,000/- towards first premium amount and the same were checked and processed by their branch. But they issued a letter (dt. 08.12.12), received on 14.12.12 regarding “Further Requirements under Proposal No. 15629890” in which the Plan name was stated as “HDFC SL Sampoorn Samridhi” instead of “HDFC Life New Money Back Plan (Spl)” and they have also demanded these document. 1. Illustration Page. & 2. Fresh copy of age proof as the one submitted are not legible..?? and stated in letter that the insurance cover will not be provided until I submit these documents. But this policy was issued on 01.01.2013 even when I have not submitted any of above document and also made a complaint about this policy. I lodged several complaints on 18th, 20th Dec. 12, 08th, 14th Jan. 13, 23rd, 27th Feb. 13 & 8th Mar. 13 to HDFC Life Customer Care, Nodal Officers (1st, 2nd, 3rd & Final Level), through email, and visited HDFC Branch on 30th Jan 13 & 6th Feb. 13 but not a single satisfactory reply has been received till date. The above policy was cancelled on 13.02.13 and I received a message in this regard. But till date they have not refunded my premium amount (Rs. 30,000/-). When I called their customer care they gave me a wrong courier shipment no. and it is confirmed through tracking system and email reply received from the courier company on my inquiry that this shipment was not meant for me.

Its been around 3 months since i have made my first complaint about this policy. I called up their customer care more than 50 times, sent email more than 10 times and even visited their branch office 2-3 times but no one is ready to give me a satisfactory reply. They called me more than 40 times when they was selling their product but not even ready to reply my complaints. Life Insurance is a product which remains active even after death of policy holder but when they showing this kind to attitude to their own customer… how will they treat the policyholders nominee…?? Its been more than one month since i received a message regarding this policy cancellation but they have not refunded my money (i.e. Rs. 30,000/-). My only fault was to believe on HDFC Life Agent false promises and submitting my proposal/ documents/first premium and it is giving me a lot of tension/mental stress and economical loss.
