A rep named ‘Maria’ (9320990958) first called and confirmed the following details about the classic assured plan.
– 5 yr plan
– pay annual premium of Rs.12,500/- for 3 yrs only and get guarantee Rs.1,50,000/- after 5 years.
– 10gm gold coin along with policy documents as a bonus due to some lottery system for that given day.
Now, obviously, the gold coin thing will lure everyone and I was no different. I kept re-checking with them until I paid the money to them for the first year and they kept re-assuring me that I will get the gold coin.
Now, the first twist came when I asked to speak to a senior officer. The so called deputy manager named Sushil Malhotra (9987248877) confirmed to me that there has been a miscommunication about the gold coin and its only 4 gms not 10 gms. Now, even a 4gm gold in today’s market is not a joke so I asked multiple times about the authenticity of it to which he kept reassuring me that I will get the gold coin.
Finally, time for the big twist, I did not receive any gold coin along with the policy documents. When called up the officer, he outrightly refused to have agreed to any such commitment of providing a gold coin.
I want to sue these people and also file a police complaint for the act of fraud by these HDFC Life officers.
