The Holy Smoke is a restaurant on OMR in Chennai. Today we went for lunch there. One of my friend brought a 600ml cococola from there. The MRP of this cool drink was Rs.30 and Rs.60 was charged for this in the bill. My understanding of MRP is no one can sell that commodity higher than the printed MRP rate. My query is, Is it legal to charge more than MRP be it a restaurant or any other place.
This is not the problem with The Holy Smoke alone. This is an unhealthy practice being followed by almost all restaurants in Chennai. At the end, the customer is charged more than that is actually required which results in more profit for the owner and loss for the end customer.
I need a refund for the extra amount charged on me and also it should be made sure that they dont repeat this in future. Not only The Holy Smoke but all other restaurants.
