I booked Barefoot at Havelock Hotel (Havelock, Andaman) with Travelguru on 28th September 2014. It was a non refundable non-cancellable booking and they charged my credit card immediately for Rs 20,781. Two days later on 30th September I receive an email from Travelguru saying that they cannot honor the booking since the room was sold out and offered me another room as a replacement in a much cheaper hotel in Ooty! (whereas I had booked for Havelock Island in Andaman). I had seen this alternative room for Rs 15000 (at the time I was searching rooms) and it is inferior to the Barefoot Hotel we wanted (for which we paid 20k) I also checked Travelguru to see of they had indeed sold out and saw that the same room at Barefoot was still listed as available but at 28,000!! So just so they could sell their last rooms at a higher price, they cancelled my non-refundable, non-cancelled booking for which I had already paid, offering me an inferior room for the same price After repeated emails and STD phone calls, which also cost me, I still haven’t received any solution from them. I finally have booked another hotel as a last resort which cost me Rs 26000.So I am having to pay 6000 more for a room I don’t really like because of the fraud done by Travelguru. Not only this, my card has already been charged and they didn’t even reverse it as yet. I am attaching the following – my confirmed booking, email from Travelguru offering me a very cheap hotel in Ooty (whereas I booked a hotel in Havelock in Andamans), and the snapshopot showing availability of the hotel I booked a day after they wrote to me it’s unavailable. Please take desired action – either give me my original room. Or compensate me for my losses due to this mismanagement.
I want them to refund Rs 20,781 for the room they charged on 28th September. Because I have to pay the bill, they should also compensate me for one month interest on it and provide me compensation for below: 1. Because of their unprofessional ism, I had to book another room for 26000. They should reimburse the extra amount I had to pay – Rs 6000 2. They should also provide me some compensation for all the harassment- I have made STD calls to Mumbai so many times and written emails – all to no use. They should compensate me for the calls,the time wasted and the anguish caused 3. I dont want compensation in the form of any voucher as I will never use their service again. So please ensure compensation is in cash only
