I. R. Technology Services Pvt. Ltd. Flat No. 12, 1ST Floor, 22, Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue, Cal-700 019 had supplied a Microwave reactor (Model: STARTSYNTH, MILESTONE s.r.l.,Itally) to Dept. of Chem. Eng., National Institute of Technology, Rourkela 769 008 (A Govt. Institute under MHRD). The instrument was purchased from the Institute fund (above ten lakh) for research and teaching purposes. The reactor was installed in Nov 2013. In August 2014 during an experiment we found the inside reactor (a high pressure vessel) melted completely. Then we saved all the data and complained to I. R. Technology Services Pvt. Ltd. During the visit of the service engineer, they blame on us saying some unscientific reasons and they was not able to give the satisfactory answer to our scientific questions. In fact, that person was also telling that they recommend us a wrong system which is not suitable for our application to become L1 during the tendering process. Also their person agreed that the person had not demonstrated properly during the installation. Finally, that person refer the case to their Bombay office and after sometime another person replied us with some different reasons which is also scientifically wrong, and just blaming us to save their responsibility. Even, their two technical persons are giving different justifications. Finally, they send us a quotation of approx Rs. 4,00,000. We requested them to replace the part free of cost as it happen within the warranty period without our fault, and they are not able to give a proper justification why it was happened. In the present situation, the system is idle after spending so much money from the Govt. fund and at the same time many students’ research works are also hampering. Kindly take some strong action, so that they can replace the damage part free of cost to continue our research work, and at the same time, they should not exploit the other customers in future.
