Dear Sir, I have recently encountered fraud transactions related to ICICI bank account 626201524284. I am a customer of ICICI BANK Bangalore, India. The bank has a facility to register mobile numbers for internet banking and other transactions. When I was in Bangalore till 21st Sept , 2013, I was using prepaid Vodafone number , ” 9986234065″. I tried to remove this number from bank but the procedure was tedious and I had to leave urgently. My husband, Navin Shetty was abroad and I had to travel on 21st Sept 2013. After a few months , my prepaid number got deactivated but it was assigned to another person. I was not worried though my number was reissued to someone else, because I had my debit card with me along with my original sim and phone . I also had not disclosed my banking details to anyone and neither had I used i Mobile or Phone Banking services. Everything was fine till 22nd July, 2014. I saw a fraud transaction,”BIL/000621513823/OXIGENPMR/9538167330″ was made in my account. After that almost everyday, there was a series of fraud recharge online transactions made for different numbers including “.BIL/000648576846/OXIGENPMR/9986234065”. Unfortunately, I checked my account on 3rd October, 2014 , when I saw these transactions. I immediately called ICICI bank, who immediately blocked my debit card. Point to note is that I was having my debit card with me but still the transaction happened. Also the recharge online was done not only for 9986234065 but also for other numbers. After that again on 6th October, 2014, still another fraud recharge transaction happened “BIL/000657585599/OXIGENPMR/9986234065” An amount of 120 Re was deducted. This happened even after informing and alerting the bank about the breach of security that had already taken place. I again called the ICICI bank customer care and this time they asked me to drop a mail to Mr. Ajay and Mr. Srinivas Prasad , ICICI Bank Managers to delete the number “9986234xxx” from my account. I got a confirmation from the bank next day that my number has been removed . On 8thOctober, 2014, much to my shock , I saw that another fraud transaction has happened ,”BIL/000659560902/OXIGENPMR/9986234065″. This time an amount of 251 Re was deducted. After talking to the ICICI bank manager, he said that my internet banking was disabled completely but my transaction was still enabled for the number. So he then disabled all the transactions for my account, so much so I cannot by any means transfer any money to anybody or pay any bills. I have been much pained because of this crime. I have lost an amount of 6703 Re which is my hard earned money as I was working in India. A complaint has been registered with the ICICI bank. The complaint number is “SR341736460” I am abroad and cannot physically come to the bank. Also despite reporting to the bank about the breach of security, there were 2 more unauthorized transactions . Moreover, though I had a got a confirmation that all references to the numb

A reputed bank like ICICI bank should take the responsibility for such type of security lapse on their part and immediately credit the amount, 6703 Rupee, debited by means of fraud. Mere knowing the mobile number, account number of any person how anyone can use anyone’s account for his requirement. It is total failure of the banker. If any bank is unable to protect the account from fraud transactions, the bank should not run. The bank is the safest place to protect one’s hard earned money and if he is failure to do the same, then it should be shut down. In view of above complaint, it is the ICICI Bank responsibility to credit the amount immediately without further delay and take measure to protect the account holder’s bank account for future.
