Indian Oil Petrol Bunk – Fraud in Measurement

On the morning of 24th February 2015, I filled up my Splendor+, which had an empty fuel tank, with 0.835 litre of petrol at the above mentioned fuel station. Without any further refill and after traveling only 21 kilometers my bike ran out of petrol again on 26th February 2015. That quantity of petrol (0.835 litre) usually lasts for 42 kilometers in my bike.

As a consequence my bike failed to start on 26th Feb evening from my office. After I found out I’ve been short changed by the fuel station, I pushed my bike to another fuel station that was one kilometer away. As I was already suffering from fatigue after work, this added to the list. I also suffered embarrassment in front of my colleagues due to this.

I want IOC to take steps to prevent Sri MKR & Sons from short changing IOCs customers and damaging its reputation. In search of quick money many fuel stations are involved in fraudulent activities like this. I want my money to be refunded. I urge the Government to conduct an inquiry into this irregularity as thousands of consumers like me are affected everyday.
