On july 6, 2009, I sold my TVS Starcity vehicle to a buyer and the same day I called ICICI lombard and asked for cancellation of my insurance policy (No. 3005/2010051560/B/0000000419). I was given a cancellation request ID 60709592 and was told that the cancellatino would be done within 8 working days.
I also sent them a written request with a copy of the policy and the request ID to ICICI Lombard’s Mumbai office the same day.
When I called them today after having no response from them, they say that I need to give them an alternate policy number before they can cancel my policy. I have sold my vehicle and do not have any contact with the buyer. Why should I be responsible for any alternate policy when I sell my vehicle to someone who takes that responsibility on him?
I request you to assist me in filing a complaint in the court against ICICI Lombard or take other appropriate action to get my refund from the company.
