iPhone 3GS Repair complaint

My iPhone 3GS suffered water damage just 9-10 days before our shift to Bangkok. I took it to the Masterjee shop in the Elgin Rd area, just off of Sarat Bose Road for repair. It should have been a simple fix!

First, they told me they would take one day to dry it out, which was fine. After that, they said their repair person kept getting a blank, white screen, and it would take “1-2 days to fix”. Every 1-2 days I would stop by again, and it would be the same story, “Still only a white screen. Please give us 1-2 more days.” On the Friday before I left, I went back one last time and collected the phone, figuring I would get it fixed in Bangkok.

The shop in Bangkok opened the phone in front of me. The first thing they noticed were two small external screws missing. Then they noticed the internal camera was also missing and all of the internal screws were also gone. They also showed me that the motherboard showed no signs of water damage. As they showed me more and more, it became evident that the Masterjee shop had taken advantage of my imminent departure, swapped out the original parts from my phone, fixed them, and replaced it with junk.

I don’t want to file an FIR, but I will if I must. What I really want is for the Masterjee shop to replace my iPhone 3GS (32 GB) with a new one as the original one, as it is factory unlocked, cost me Rs 45,000
