Dear Sir:
I wanted to BOOK a ticket by IRCTC and while choice of berth, I gave, Lower and also the option that reserve the ticket only if Lower Berth is available.
IRCTC system ahs a bug as they don’t validate if the consumer opted choice of berth is available or not , but they simply proceed to accepting payments and they debit the credit card even without making the reservation. Then they give the warning that transaction failed – due to connection error, berth choice not available or other reason. TRY AGAIN.
Please don’t TRY AGAIN with the same choice as your card will be debited again. Kindly wait for 15 minutes to receive confirmation e-mail from IRCTC or SMS from your Credit Card to know what has happened. I tried again only to realize later that my Card was billed twice and HDFC washed away its hands saying contact IRCTC for the refund.
My question to IRCTC is as simple as this – if berth is not available, why are you debiting the credit card ? After this, we have to file a refund complaint with their customer care [you should know how to talk in Hindi, because most of them are Hindi speaking executives]
Do you care to rectify the bugs in your system and stop the un-necessary harassment and mental agony customers have to go through because of your mistakes ?
