I booked a ticket from my IRCTC account from Visakhapatnam to hazrat nizamuddin date of journey was 14 Oct 2014, but due to cyclon NAMED HUD-HUD in Visakhapatnam the train was cancelled .ticket details are as follows: PNR No: 6633139846 Train No. & Name: 12807/SAMTA EXPRESS Quota: GENERAL (GN) Date & Time Of Booking: 08-Oct-2014 17:24:55 Transaction ID: 100000094108885 since the train was cancelled , I was told by inquiry at railway station on 13 Oct14 that the refund will be done automatically to your account and also there was no other option was available to me to cancel the ticket since no power supply , no mobile network and internet connectivity was available .when these services were resumed I checked my IRCTC account but found that ticket was not cancelled and hence no refund was made. when I tried to cancel the ticket online , system doesn’t allow me to do so , it says that e ticket can be cancelled within 10 days of date of journey. then same day I wrote a complain at care@irctc.co.in, but did not received any response till date. I called up to customer care no. on phone and told the whole episode to executive but he also explained me same rule .also he suggested me to write a email at eticket@irctc.co.in as this was a special case due to natural calamity.i followed the same and repeated 2-3 times but did not received any reply in this regard till date.
amount paid for booking the of the ticket be refunded ,considering the special case due to natural calamity.being a well known fact that due to storm in the area and its after effects many trains were cancelled .and samta exp was also one of them.
