IRCTC Ticket Booking – Lower Berths – Flawed Algorithm

I wanted to book a ticket for 3 passengers of my family(Mrs. Bandita (wife), 29 yrs, Ms. Nilima (sister), 24 yrs, Snehashish (son), 18 months)in New Delhi-Bhubaneshwar for 5th Aug.13.I had checked the status online for Sleeper class and the availability status was 358-Available for 5th Aug.13. With great expectation came to book the ticket on 14th June at 6pm and could reach the counter around 7.30pm preferring lower berths as both ladies are traveling with a baby and clearly mentioned in the booking form. Given option for Non.Veg food too in the form. Also during the booking twice repeated these two preferences but the reservation clerk didn’t heed either the verbal request of the indications in the form but booked for Side Upper and Upper Berth for both of the lady passengers, even food preference mentioned veg. It was done very intentionally to harass and though pleaded again for cross check was rudely behaved in front of public gathered for ticket booking. Got the ticket for this train (PNR:281-9404349, Train No.12282, Dt. 5th Aug.13, but both the seats in upper berth) I wondered the customer service of this lady and was shocked with deep pain inside.

It has caused inconvenience for both the lady passengers to travel with baby now. 2.Booking the ticket almost 50 days ahead with 350 availability hasn’t helped me to have a suitable seat for the family. 3. My kind plea is ignored though spoken verbally as well requested in the booking form. 4. i’m in big confusion whether to cancel this ticket or not as may loose money and seat availability.

I request for penalty from the booking clerk to apologize publicly for this harassment and misusing the position. She muist have done it regularly to others and will continue it to the customers in the future. 2.Indian railway has to compensate me Rs. 50,000/- (fifty thousand) towards the offense, negligence and inconvenience caused to me. 3. I need to be issued a fresh ticket offer my family to travel on 5th Aug. with the preferences given immediately to get relief from this difficulty. 4. I expect the ticket soon with my preferences.
