IRDA – poor service

I had sent a complaint on 16-11-2012 to the office of the insurance ombudsman , Hyderabad which reached them on 19-11-2012. My grievance pertained to a insurance policy sold to me by Bajaj Allianz life insurance , though the policy had been asked to be withdrawn by IRDA . I received a reply from the office of the insurance ombudsman stating that the matter did not come under the purview of the ombudsman office. However to my surprise the reply had misstated my complaint as ‘clarification regarding surrender value’ . Though I informed the ombudsman office by phone that the complaint had been misinterpreted , that the complaint pertains to the legality of selling the policy itself, I was informed that this issue too does not come under their perview. I subsequently sent an email to insombudhyd@gmail.com(email id of insurance ombudsman, hyderabad) clarifying the subject matter of my complaint but I received no reply.Thereafter I sent another complaint with the subject matter of my complaint clerly mentioned as “Illegal sale of policy”. I have received no response after waiting for more than a month. When I called up their office I was told that even this complaint does not come under their purview. I requested the ombudsman office to send me a letter to that effect vide email dated 31-12-2012 but I have not received any response . This matter may kindly be addressed to. I would also like to know under whose purview does this complaint fall.
