To, Head of NIC, New Delhi. Date: 29-Nov-2014 Subject: This complaint is regarding Kasat Creation Saree Respected Sir, Myself Mrs. Radhika Saurabh Deshpande ( Daughter of Arun Kashikar ) . We bought orange color Kanjeewaram saree from Kasat creation, Karve road, Pune on 9th Jul’13 of Rs.10,000/- +. Saree was bought for my mother (staying at Wardha, Maharastra), she wore it once on the occasion of my cousins wedding reception in the month of dec’13. While planning to wear it again in Diwali 2014, it was found that there is almost 1 inch cut in the saree. She sent that saree to Pune; I called up Kasat creation to inform them about the issue. They asked me to get saree to their shop so that they will check it. When I took saree to the shop they said that they wont take any ownership of product once it’s sold. They said that you wore saree very tight hence it is worn. Although it wasn’t true bcoz my mother only wore that saree once. She regularly wears saree and knows very well how to handle it. They said they will get it repaired from their karagir but we have to pay Rs.500/-. As we had no option so agreed to get that damaged Jari butta repaired. Gave saree on 8th Nov’14 to kasat creation .We went to collect it on 21st Nov’14 and asked there sales man to show if the work is done properly. When opened, we were shocked to see that saree was worn at several places. Color of the saree was fade and could see burn patches at many places. When questioned that how this happened sales man Mr. Sawasher started talking loudly and arguing and said that they aren’t responsible for this, we should talk to their karagir. We said if we gave saree to you ‘ Kasat Creation’ then why should we talk to karagir. Work done was Kasat’s responsibility. We told them that this is not the way they should talk and if this continues we will complaint to police. Then owner of the shop Mr. Mukund Kasat came aggressively towards us and said ‘ I do not fear to anyone, do whatever you want to do. Damage of the saree is not our responsibility. If you want ‘Take it or throw it’. Threw saree and went off. Seeing his behavior we left that saree at the shop but having receipt with us. Few Things to highlight: 1. Shop owner say that they don’t give guarantee of cloth once sold, but now the question is that ‘quality of cloth is so low that it worn in just one use. That too such a costly saree. Kasat cheated us. And should give us our money back or replacement of saree of same cost. 2. When saree was given, kasat took the responsibility, but when they found that saree is damaged they waved off their responsibility. Such an irresponsible behavior. 3. We paid Rs.500/- for repairing but as it was fabric fault they shouldn’t have ask us to pay. 4. When we requested to give us duplicate bill, they refused and said they don’t have. Ideally shop keeper has to keep transaction records for last 5 yrs for auditing purpose. 5. When we asked for contact details of owner, they re
either replacement of that saree of same cost or refund of entire amount misbehaving
