Dear Sir/madam,

I am writing to you as my last resort and am hoping that you value your customers.

After 2 months of using Airtel no one had verified my address. In the meantime I changed addresses and just as I had done that Airtel decided to verify my address. Of course it could not be verified as I no longer lived at the address on the form when I connected with Airtel.

Airtel in the meantime had put a bar on all my outgoing calls because I hadn’t contacted the office the change my address due to illness.

Once I was able, I filled in the appropriate form with my current address. I was told it would take 5 working days before the bar would taken off. That was 3 weeks ago! I still cannot use my Airtel account.

I sent many emails to try and sort this matter, especially as I have a 520 rupee credit with your company.

No one in customer care is able to correct this situation, I don’t know why as it is a simple matter of verification and taking the bar off.

I am very disappointed and extremely frustrated. I have had little communication and there doesn’t seem to be anyone who cares. So much for customer care. I am made promise after promise that the matter will rectified.

Is there something that can be done as I will be staying in India for some time.

I have a corporate background and am appalled at the incompetence of Airtel staff. In my country we pride ourselves on valuing our customers. Pity Airtel doesn’t feel the same way. There seems to be a lot of apathy among your staff and I think this will affect your progress on the world stage. It gives me doubts about doing business with ANY Indian company.

I am hoping that this matter will be taken seriously and I must inform you that I have also lodged a complaint with the Indian Consumer Forum.
