Lenovo phone – all calls got barred from SIM1 poor service by centre

Sir, My grievance is against Lenovo India Smartphones. I bought a lenovo handset in Dec’13, bearing IMEI-861269015351033, S/N- HD10014398 and the said Handset started malfunctioning by Jan’14. The problem that occurred was – “SIM1 dysfunction/malfunction”, i.e., all calls got barred from SIM1. I contacted lenovo cust. serve. helpline and they advised me to submit the phone to service cent re. I submitted handset to nearest Lenovo Service Center at Bokaro on 12-02-14. The service center tried to repair the phone from their end and through their Kolkata Counterpart but were unsuccessful, and confirmed me that they cannot repair the phone from their end and that they could not get help from lenovo India because their back-end support was very poor. In the meantime, I have been the sole sufferer since the phone lies in the service center since the last 22 days without any solution. The helpline numbers of Lenovo Smartphones are not Toll-Free but are charged at par with STD Tariffs. From the day I submitted the Phone to the service center, I called up the customer service twice a day for the issue till today. Everyday they would ask every details from start to end and assure me of proper solution within the next 24 hours. But this turned a false assurance as the next day when I called up again, they told me that no such complaint exists and again I had to describe the whole issue all over. This has cost me Rs.80-90 everyday on STD tariffs. I have even Emailed them regarding the issue every 2nd day but they’ve never responded to my e-mails. They have caused me a lot of Embarrassment and frustration – Both Mentally as well as Financially. Lenovo has harassed me to a great extent. Now it seems that Lenovo does not intend to provide me with a solution to the issue. they are just interested in selling their product and make money rather than expending on after-sales-support. They just want to sideline my issue. I have been cheated on buying a Lenovo Product. There are other smartphone makers in the market as well who provide very prompt service. Inferior Brands such as Karbonn/Lava/Intex/Iball etc. have far better service support. I request the Department of Consumer Affairs to take up the issue seriously and teach Lenovo for their arrogance.

I had stipulated a period of one month to Lenovo for the solving my complaint. I want Lenovo India to provide me a new replacement of the faulty Handset along with penalty for the expenses & Harassment I have experienced in this context by Monday – 12th Mar’13, since it has been approximately 1 month since my submission of the phone into the service centre, but no progress has been made till date. InCase, Lenovo fails to deliver the same by the above stipulated date, I want full refund of my money Invested in the phone along with damages applicable.
