Loss of Kisan Vikas Patra

Sir

I am dealing with 2 post offices in Coimbatore,1) New Sidhapudur PO and 2) R S Puram PO for purchase of KVP.( Kisan Vikas Patra).

I have been encashing KVP every month at New Sidhapudur PO till march 2009.

However while travelling in bus i lost my KVP Certificate for the month of April 09.( Due date)

I do not have any particulars except that it was in our joint name , Maturity value for Rs 10000 and Due date as noted in my diary as 24.04.09, and Maturity Period 7 years and 3 months.

Subsequent KVPs maturing from May 2009 are purchased from R S Puram PO.I have the originals with me.

I have not purchased KVP from any other PO.

I have submitted stop payment letter to both POS on the date of loss of my KVP ie on 30.04.09.

Now Both the POs are denying that there was no KVP issued in Jan 2002 which is not true.

I cannot forego the payment of Rs 10000.

So i request you to arrange for finding out the details KVPs standing in our joint name, both encashed and not encashed from both POs. ( POs must have some data from which they can retrieve). If they say they cannot verify then it must be deficiency of service on the part of Post Office. They must accept the disservice and stop from issuing any KVP in future.

Customer sof Post offices cannot afford to lose their hard earned money since because they have lost the certificate.

They should have some definite way of verifying the outstanding certificates if investor name is given.

Please extend justice to my case.
