Meru Cab Pick up timing Not Maintained, Consumer Review

I had booked a cab from Selaiyur to Royapet for 3rd November-2014 09:00 AM pickup. I had done the booking 2 days before on 01-Nov-2014 at 08:30 PM. The booking reference of the number is 31493509. I had received an email from them mentioning that they would be sending the cab and chauffer details 20 minuted before the booking time. But to my surprise, I did not receive any cab details till 08:50 AM on 3rd November 2014. When I called the customer care, they said that no cabs are available for the pickup area that I had requested. I would at least expect the company to let the customer know that they could not be able to arrange a cab, so that I would have arranged for the alternatives. Also i seriously doubt the manner in how Meru serves. I would accept that cab is not available if I had booked it in a short notice. In this case i had booked this almost 36 hours in advance, and they had acknowledged the status as accepted. This would mean that they had ample amount of time to arrange a cab for me and they could have to informed me well in advance about the result.

Well, I cannot mention what relief that I would need for this as I cannot fix a price for my career. However I believe that the Department of Consumer affairs would have the authority to check if this case amounts for the cheating the customer by not keeping him updated about the non availability of the service. However I would like to see if they can change the policy of saying that the booking is accepted before having a cab driver accept the trip. Hence the customers atleast will not be under the impression that their cab has been arranged and they would make some alternative arrangements as backfill. Atlast i would like to get an apology from their pathetic customer service who doesnt know anything apart from saying “we cant do anything right now”.
