COMPLAINT SUMMARY •Safety Door supplied by M\S Selar Wood is defective and, the same, as soon as released from the grip, swings open on its own widely until stopped by the adjacent neighbour’s door. •The supplier is in denial mode and also evasive in handling the complaint COMPLAINT DETAILS •On 18th of January 2013, I had visited the showroom of Manoj Banerjee, Proprietor, SELAR WOODS situated in Malad West for procuring a safety door. I gave a booking advance of Rs.5000\- against the total value of Rs19725\- •On 6th\7th of February 2013 the door was supplied and fitted and the balance payment was made to the party through his labourers as per advice. •Details of amount paid 1) paid by cash Rs.5000 on 18/01/2013, and 2) paid by cash Rs.14725 on 07/02/2013 Total amount paid Rs.19725 •The Supplier did not give me any formal document other than a katcha receipt. However his subsequent email response during Oct’13 confirms that he has supplied the door •Meanwhile the supplier has shut shop and the only trace of him is available through mobile phone number and an e-mail address and a web-site. •In Oct 2013, I had contacted him over phone and also sent him e-mails( 21st , 24th & 28th ) pointing out a defect in the door. The complaint was primarily about the door, which as soon as released from the grip, swings open up to 180 degree freely on its own until stopped by the adjacent neighbour’s door. •The supplier has sent a representative (0n 23rd oct’2013) only to explain that it was very natural and bypassed the problem which was caused by wrong plumb of the door\door frame fitted by his labourer, •The supplier himself visited my place on 13th Nov’13 and suggested a half-hearted solution of fixing additional wooden chips on the frame to reduce the door’s free swinging beyond 90 degree. He, however has remained elusive since.

The supplier need to •take back the door without causing any damage to the wooden frame\wall •pay me the present value of replacement (Approx. Rs.30000\-) •pay me an amount of Rs.10000 towards damage for causing harassment and mental agony. •Pay me the consequential legal expenses
