Nokia Lumia 1020 – Poor SmartPhone Quality – A Review

Good day, My ID number is 890114 001 8087 and my Name is Claudia Harmse. This email is to request a phone replacement. (Nokia Lumia 1020) I recently took out a new Cell C Contract and within the first three days of using the phone it displayed signs that it is faulty. (NOT CHARGING AND NOT SWITCHING ON). We did the following to try get the problem resolved. 6th of January: I noticed the problem and phoned Cellc to find out what to do to get the phone fixed, I was instructed to take the Phone to a Cellc shop which I did (Cellc Greenstone Shopping Centre). At the shop the phone miraculously worked again. After leaving the shop the phone started giving the same problem. 12Th of January: I took the phone in to Cellc East Rand Mall, I explained to them that the phone does not charge and does not switch on.

They booked in the phone and said it will be sent to the repair centre to see if the phone can be fixed or needs to be replaced, they said this process takes 21 Days. Ref number: PRE478244 15th of January: I received a confirmation via SMS that the phone has been received at the repair centre. Ref number: CLC1008395 24th of January: I received a confirmation via SMS that the phone has been handed over to a technician. Ref number: CLC1008395 14th of February: I received a confirmation that my phone was ready to be collected and has been repaired. I was told that the phone had a Software fault, and that the correct software has been loaded. 18th of February: I went to Cell C in East rand Mall and collected my phone. I fully charged the phones battery that night. This morning when I wanted to use my phone it is AGAIN OFF AND DOES NOT CHARGE AND DOES NOT SWITCH ON. So again I phone head office and explain the situation to them and after speaking to a number of people I am told that I will need to send my phone back again to the repair centre so that they can see if they can repair the phone or if it needs to be replaced (Same thing I was told the first time). So after waiting more than a MONTH for my phone to be repaired it STILL does not work, and now they want me to send it in AGAIN and most probably wait ANOTHER MONTH!!!!! And I also found out that when they booked in my phone it was booked in for a battery that drains quickly, and that only the battery was replaced on the phone??? After I was told it was a software problem!!! So after all that has been done the phone still does not work and I feel that the phone is not suited for the purpose it was bought for. Therefore I am requesting that the phone should NOT BE REPAIRED and MUST BE REPLACED immediately as I have the right to request this according to the Consumer Protection Act. Please respond within 7 Days with a solution or I will hand this over for Legal assistance. Kind regards,
