I purchased a new Reliance wireless modem on 25th July 2013 from Mr. Damodaran of Guru Raghav Tele Services & Marketting. His sales representative (Mob. 8695555394) delivered the modem at my residence, after receiving my passport copy and photograph. Since my passport was of Kerala address, I had asked him clearly whether that would do. He assured that to be fine. The connection became non-functioning on 2nd August morning. I contacted the customer care services, who gave many instructions and all that did not work. Finally, they registered a compliant to the service team, with service request no. 206819926. The technical team informed that my connection has been terminated since documents were not submitted. Then, I contacted Mr. Damodaran, who assured that it will be fine by 27th morning. When I contacted him on 27th,he sad that somebody will come for verification and the connection will be renewed immediately after that. After giving them many calls,a person (mobile no: 9677003718) came for verification and informed that the address given in the id proof and where I stay mismatch. Also the address given by me was not complete and pin code was wrong. I had narrated the full address with pin code; but the representative who filled the form on 25th made some mistake. So, I showed him a copy of the tenancy contract, between my husband Ajayakumar and the house owner, so that he confirmed everything to be fine. Still the connection was not renewed. Again,I contacted him. He said that one more verification is due, because of address mismatch and that will take place next day morning itself. Next day, i.e., Aug 4, was a Sunday and nothing happened. On 5th morning when I called, he said that verification will be done soon. He requires my passport copy and photograph. But I don’t have another copy of my passport with me and neither can I go out alone with my baby for that nor can I send my original passport with the person they send, whom I don’t know personally. Then he asked me to e-mail a copy to him!!!! My patience was really running out… Had I got an internet connection to e-mail him, would I have ever called him at all? Anyway, I suggested him to send a modem with the person whom he sent for verification, so that I can e-mail him. I also informed him that I will wait till the afternoon and if nothing happens from their part, I’ll go for another connection and they have to take back the instrument. But till now, they have not renewed the service nor taken back the instrument.
1. After collecting payment for the connection instrument, it is the duty of the service provider to ensure uninterrupted service to the customer. 2. They should have got a tenancy contract copy also along with the passport copy as address proof. Or else, they should have not given the connection at all. 3. They could have done verification and all without interrupting the services, so that I would not have suffered personally in my official circle, and financially too. First of all,let them take back the instrument and refund me its cost. Then,let them pay my lost salary because of them. Kindly consider my agony also. Now, as a customer, I am presenting my case before you, Sir. I request you to proceed with this case in such a manner that no more customers shall suffer an agony like this just because of an internet service provider. Kindly consider my case and do the needful at the earliest.
