Sub: Charging for postpaid Reliance internet plan without instruction of the customer for extending after expiry of the due date for plan period I would like to state that I had opted for internet connection no 9376937235 service plan postpaid from retail Reliance communication outlet POS Code CO26102542 agent name K.A.Patel situated in Anand Mahal road Adajan Surat paid the amount of 1500/- in cash for the modem & subscription charge of Rs.2058/- by BOB cheque no 28037 on 23/03/2013 for validity period of six months effective from 29/03/2013. During the time of marketing the internet package the agent made tall claims regarding the speed of internet and the backup service, I decided to purchase the plan on trial basis for six months and paid for the value. During the course of time I found all the claims of service and speed were false and I decided not subscribe after termination of the six month validity period. All through the period of six month I did not receive any bill by mail or post regarding the usage of my plan. But during the month of October 2013 I received a call from the reliance communication office stating that an amount of 250/- is due on the connection and the same to be paid. I stated that I have not instructed to renew my plan and logically the connection should have been deactivated automatically. Moreover due to some snag in my computer I have not been using the net connection from past few months hence the question of paying for any utilized service does not arise. All the communications were made through mobile phone and they have not sent any detailed bill on hard copy/soft copy. Now the company calls and threatens to go to lok adalat if the bills amounting to 850/- are not paid. We are law abiding citizens, the company is trying to charge the customer’s for the services not instructed and not provided for the period. Please look into the matter and ensure that telecom companies do not harass the customers. It is a clear case of unfair trade practice has been adopted by service provider. K.V.Kedarinath
