Samsung Galaxy A-8 – No Customer Service

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy A-8 phone on 20-February-2016 from Univercell store in Madhapur, Hyderabad. I faced several problems with the phone right from day-1 that made it almost impossible for me to use the phone. The service center made several attempts to correct the problem through other means before finally replacing the mother-board of the phone. I had requested at the time to replace the phone itself if needed and I was assured that I will not be having any further issues. The phone then worked fine for the last 3-4 months but suddenly stopped charging from 24-Jul-2016. I went to the Kavury Hills service center today with the phone and the center manager Mr. Pradeep (ph. Number: 9573249566) informed me that my service is void as the device LCD is tempered and has some damage! I had not tempered with the phone or the screen at all and never damaged it. The damage could have been caused by Samsung during the mother board replacement.

I escalated the issue to the Samsung CEO desk from their website, the issue got assigned to Ms. Premlatha (044-30639100, ext 1642, email: prema.a@partner.samsung.com). Premlatha took more than a week and again accused me of tempering/misusing with the product without any evidence. The whole attitude was of wriggling out of their service obligations and blaming the customer for problem with their product which had multiple problems from day-1. They made me shell out Rs. 8027/- for resolving the problem even though the phone was still under warranty. Request to get this amount reimbursed with suitable penalty for harassment and inconvenience so that these vendors understand their obligation towards their customers.

I didn’t have a working phone with me for 8 days that caused loss of productivity and connectivity in addition to mental harassment. Samsung also made me pay Rs. 8027/- for the phone by wrongfully accusing me of tempering/mishandling the product.

Reimbursement of the amount paid as well as reparation for the loss of productivity and mental harassment. Samsung should be penalized for not honoring its service obligations and harassing and wrongfully accusing the customers. I would like Samsung to pay me Rs. 50,000/- as reparations in addition to returning the Rs. 8027/- wrongfully charged. In addition I would like Samsung to take action against Ms. Premlatha for her wrongful handling of the issue.
