I had bought a Samsung Laptop ( Model No. – NP300E5C-A0CIN) on 20.04.2013 from a store in Kolkata, India. I encountered a problem within a month of buying the laptop. The problem is as follows. The display of the laptop is getting cracked and the computer is getting hanged all of a sudden at irregular intervals while working with the computer both in the battery back up mode and the power mode. But I could not get it checked immediately since I had to move to New Delhi, India within a couple of days on account of higher education and I continued to work with the faulty laptop somehow with a lot of difficulty. I am currently residing in New Delhi. I went back to Kolkata twice, once in October and again in December and both times I visited the Samsung service centre and kept the laptop there for considerable periods for detection of the problem and fixing it. I can not keep the laptop at any service centre in New Delhi as detection takes considerable time and I don’t have an alternate laptop to work with when I am in New Delhi. After working on my laptop twice, the Samsung service centre (Divine Electro Solutions, Kolkata) has failed to detect the actual problem and the initial problem still persists. Moreover, it has aggravated and in addition to this two other problems have cropped up – one being the sudden shut down of the machine and the other being related to the display showing – “Operating System Missing” at times during booting. I had registered a complaint with Samsung and requested for a replacement of the product many a time but they did not pay any heed to my request ever despite this being well within the warranty period and asked me to keep on visiting the Service Centre. They have not provided me with any other option. I am in a terrible state now as I had spent a lot of money on buying this laptop and I can not continue working with this machine any longer. And I can not afford to spend any more time waiting for the laptop to be fixed. Samsung Service Enter has failed twice in detecting the problem, and of course could not fix it. Now, I am being forced by Samsung to work with a FAULTY MACHINE they have sold me and is not bothered by my grievances. I would also liked to mention that apart from the machine being faulty from the very beginning, the service too is as bad as possible. I am really in a helpless state and I feel harassed by Samsung. I would be grateful if you can help me in this regard. I am planning to move to the Consumers’ Forum if I am not provided with a replacement of the product. Thank you.
I want either a replacement of the Laptop by Samsung or monetary compensation worth Rs. 28,304.00, i.e., the cost of the product.
