We purchased a Samsung LED (UA40D5000PRMXL) Television in Jaipur, INDIA in February 2012 and only in 18 months of using the product, the Screen Panel has not functioning properly which has resulted in black stripes on the screen. The technical personnel visited our place, to inform us of the part going bad (i.e. defective panel) and the replacement cost for which would cost us 22,590/- 1/3rd of TV price). The television has crossed 6 months of the warranty only and given our investment of about 60K, such quality is totally unacceptable. On escalating the matter, the customer service representative from Noida office called mutilple times saying that ‘there is nothing they can do about it, until we spend to replace the part’, even thought the technical personnel admitted on his visit that this problem is due to manufacturing defect only. I already wrote an email on Samsung official website but same response. Premium product from a reputed global brand malfunctioning in 18 months is totally unacceptable.
We need either to Samsung bear the cost of replacement part or buy back the full Product. Bill # 8701 DOP – 23/02/2013
