We have Purchase Samsung Galaxy Quattro – I – 8552 – bearing IMEI No. 356575050729897 in the month of May’2013. The phone was having hang up, split screen and other problems and hence the same was sent so many times to Service center. In January’2014, the company has replaced the PCB of the Handset. After that some of the problems were continued but we did not approach the service center. On 28/04/2014,the handset drops the Wi-Fi signal and on restarting the phone, it automatically gets connected. So, handset was submitted to the Service center at Adajan,Surat and returned by the service center for “water logged” problem but our executive was not allowed to take the photographs of the same. We raised the issue with the company and asked for photograph or CCTV footage for the same but the company did not respond. Our executive informed that there was a power cut in the center. We raised the issue with the company and in conference with Mr. Ushman, the Service Center Manager and Telecaller, Mr. Ushman requested to once again submit the handset for observation. We submitted the handset for observation but Job sheet was not issued. They kept the phone for 4-5 days without Job sheet. And returned the Handset on 08/05/2014 informing that the handset is water logged and out of warranty and informed that the repair will be carried out on chargeable basis but did not informed the cost of repair. We objected for water logged and denial of warranty by the company and asked for Photographs/CCTV footage and also for Vacuum Test. But the company did not respond. We asked for the estimates of Repair. After 2-3 trials, the company sent us estimates of Rs. 12224/- which is almost 84 % of the Prevailing Market cost of Rs. 14490/- of the handset. The company has hyped/highlighted the matter as if the total phone was drown in water/phone was washed away in water. The phone is totally operational and only problem was Wi-Fi suddenly disconnected and after restarting the phone it gets connected. This is a conspiracy of the company. The handset is defected or the company has installed refurbished or used PCB in the month of January’2014 and it is not working so company has created a scene so that they do not have to refund the money. We have downloaded the warranty policy of the company form the website and nowhere else it has been specifically mentioned that water logged/damaged phones are out of warranty.
