My Samsung (model SGH-E210) mobile phone was found not working (did not recognize SIM card) within warranty period. I took it to the designated service center in Domlur, Bangalore who checked the phone and accepted it for repair within 4 days. However, later i got a call from the center informing that the main IC of the phone is faulty and the cost of repair is comparable to the cost of phone and therefore cannot be repaired or exchanged.
Is this a valid argument for not honouring the warranty? Has anybody faced a similar problem with any company? I plan to file complaint in District consumer forum, so please share similar experience
