Re : Samsung Smart TV UA46D7000 LR LED costing Rs 125000 –blurry picture after 3rd panel change My TV started pouring vertical lines like rain, in early June’13 before Mumbai Monsoon set in, and Samsung replaced the display panel on 12th July ‘13. After replacement, the TV used to flicker with some funny noise, goes bl blackout automatically, showing intermittently the SMART TS all over the screen. Samsung replaced the Panel once again on 25th July’13. For Samsung team is so proficient, for them changing the Panel is like changing the 40 watts bulb! Ever since the third panel, I noticed the picture looks very weird, patchy and uncanny. At times the video quality is too hazy, fuzzy and blurry, looks as if it is a wall painting on the back ground. Video display is at times, so sharp to show the ugly makeup foundation cracks on the face of the artist, making it totally fake and unnatural, dead and very TV watching is more painful experience. Initially I thought that it was our imagination. My friends, who visited me, also confirmed that there is something wrong with picture quality. So I went on 10th Aug, went to nearby Samsung TV showroom and checked the very same channels in Samsung LED , I found them quite natural. On 17th Aug, Saturday Samsung technician visited my place (13th Techie visit from Samsung in one month ). He checked the picture quality, did some tuning and agreed to that there is distortion/ blurriness in the picture. First ,he tried to blame it to reception ,when I told him I have TATA SKY, showed him the signal strength 100% , he kept quite. When I told him that the earlier two panels were so fine and lively, he admitted that the present picture is not the ORIGINAL glossy one that comes with the original TV, so lacks the glossy live look. He told me he would inform Mr Atul, local service head, and I would hear from him on 19th Aug , as usual no one bothered to call me till date. I brought this to the notice of my dealer Mr Vijay , who also surprised to hear from me and confirmed that since the original TV has a costly glossy panel, or Samsung may not have the original panel, they have replaced with the matte one. He said he would take up with Mr Atul Today, out of curiosity I was checking the original specification of this TV in the Samsung weblink (http://www.samsung.com/ae/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA46D7000LRXZN-spec) , it mentions the motion rate of this particular TV as 600 clear motion rate, whereas my TV shows 50 as motion rate at the time of starting the TV. This explains the reason why the quality of picture is too poor. Needless to mention here that I have paid INR 125000 for better picture quality and not for the inferior ones. Samsung has taken me for a ride ! Hats off to Samsung ! Regards Laksman Iyer 91 7738484657
