I got my Skoda Octavia L&K bearing registration # HR 26 W 2112 repaired a month back. Ram Motors had replaced the front tensioner and had charged me Rs. 4,800 plus service charges for the same. They had also provided me a bill for the same and I have a copy of the same. Yesterday, that part broke and the service centre refused to replace the same stating that its not replaceable of broken. They tried to negotiate that they will bear 50% and on arguing I realize that the invoice given to me was fake and they do not have a copy of the same. They seem to be an illegal shop repairing cars and use spurious parts and fleecing customers. The part seemed genuine as it had a mark stating Germany as the make.

The consumer department should instruct police to hunt such unregistered car service mechanics who fleece customers on pretext of fake parts. This centre also has set a mechanism to avoid paying taxes to Haryana Government by stocking parts in Mandi village (in Delhi and very near to his workshop) and bringing necessary parts in his own vehicle. A compensation of Rs. 50,000 is demanded
