My 4 years old 32 inch Sony LCD Bravia TV stopped working. I registered a service request (SR ID 14913281) on 21st July with Sony India. 26/07/2013 A technician visited my residence and diagnosed that power supply board is faulty. 28/07/2013 Technician visited and took the board to service center for checking. Service center informed that board has to be replaced and it would costs Rs 8559/- including service charges. I found the charges to be high and requested them to put the request on hold so that I can contact customer care to get some discount. 29/07/2013 I contacted customer care and raised service request (SR ID 15040272) for discount. The Customer care executive agreed to get back to me after checking about a discount internally. 1/08/2013 I got call from service center that board is not available, it may get delayed by 1 month since it has to come from Japan. A 25% discount was offered on any new TV was offered as an alternate option to waiting for a month. On same day I visited Service center (Anna Nagar), they told that board is not available it may take more than 3 months because supplier is not there, instead the 25% discount offer for new TV was peddled again. 3/08/2013 I got call from customer service manager Chennai, he informed that the power supply board is not available instead we offer new TV (higher model) at the estimated cost of the board. He told that he will confirm the estimated cost by evening. However, instead of giving a cost estimate, a technician was deputed to my house who checked the TV with a spare power supply board. Since problem persisted, he said LCD panel is faulty and that the cost of the panel is Rs 12500/-. 13/08/2013 I got a call from service center that cost of replacing the LCD Panel is Rs 13050/- including transporting charges and the repair would be done in one week’s time. Till now the repair hasn’t happened.
I would like to have my TV repaired at the earliest or as promised by the customer service manager, I would like to have a replacement new TV with the associated warranty for new products at the cost of Rs 8559/- as originally quoted.
