I have a Sony Xperia Z1 which is in warranty product. On 13th April when I was in swimming pool with my 3 year old niece that phone fell into the swimming pool. Water depth was less than 3 Ft and all the panels were closed. It was working fine for an hour but later it stopped functioning. I took it to the Sony Service Center, Krishna Services Sec-7 Dwarka, New Delhi-110075. Ticket ID #15041303525. They mentioned that water has gone inside the set and they need to send it to head office for further inspection and it will take around 10 days for the repair work which I agreed and submitted my cell phone. It’s been 17 days and I have called the service centre 7 times but they do not have any status of my phone. I called Sony Customer Care # 180030002800 they asked me to write an email as even they didn’t have much information about my cell phone either. after calling them 15 times today they said they are voiding my warranty as water has gone inside and they will charge me 22000 for repair. I have paid Rs.40000 to buy a water resistant phone which fell into 3 ft water for 5 secs and it stopped working. This is an in warranty product so why would I have to pay anything for the repair They still haven’t returned my cellphone as service centre is asking me to call customer care and customer care is asking me to call service centre. Please help me.
I want them to repair my in warranty cellphone for no cost and will further provide me 6 months warranty for repaired items.
