Dear Sir/Madam, I have savings account (no. 45510529705) with Standard Chartered bank registered address -Standard Chartered Bank, Serenity Building, #112, 5th Block, Koramangala Industrial Area, Opp. Forum Mall, Koramangala, Bangalore – 560095. I want to draw your attention towards the complaint number 20131018320751 which I filed with standard chartered customer care unit on 18 Oct 2013 informing them that there was an unauthorized withdrawal of 3450/- INR from my savings bank account using cheque number 363629 which I had not issued and not signed. Before I continue with the progress of the case and response of the bank, I would like to let you know that on 03 Aug 2013 a similar withdrawal of 3610/- INR was done using cheque number 363628 (attached is the scan copy of the cheque of August’s month fraud usage of cheque which was sent by Sr. Officer – Customer care Ms.Kavitha for verification purpose in my email id amit.ifim1@gmail.com) upon verification they came to know that there was a signature mismatch and that the series of the cheque used were 5 years old and were non CTS complaint (but they still cleared the cheque and debited by account) and on 07th August 2013 the amount was credited back to my savings account upon regular follow up. I was assured that they follow the best practice and that cheques are always verified for signature before debiting some ones account. They also assured me that such incident will not happen again and I can be assured of this and should not bother about the safety and security of my account and money. But this has happened again in 2 months’ time and it has caused me a lot of discomfort, tension, wastage of time plus loss of money. I want to take strict action against the bank as safety and security of clients account and standard working procedures are not followed putting customer’s money and time at great risk.
