Dear Sir
I have an NRI account with SBT Kannur Main Branch.
Since I Am Employed In Dubai , I Will Be In Kerala Only for 4 weeks in an year .
Since i am staying now in my newly built home In Thaliparamba
I used to withdraw money from thaliparamba branch ,
Last year I had no problem encashing my own cheque in thaliparamba branch, though my account is in Kannur main branch.
Today morning (23 mar 2009 ) i submitted my own cheque to encash it at SBT thaliparamba branch
The cashier , told me that they stopped accepting cheque issued by other branches , he did not gave any valid reason to the stoppage of service , and directed me to meet the branch manager .
The branch manager repeated the same answer , and to the question why the customer was not informed about this change , he directed me to ask the kannur branch manager as he is who suppose to inform me as my account is there .
I Planned to go to Madras to meet my friend today, all my plans where jeopardized , due to non availability of funds
had i been informed by the bank about this change i would not have lost my valuable one day from my limited holidays .
I strongly believe it is the service providers duty to inform the clients about policy changes, new formalities etc
as so i kindly request the consumer cell to get me reimbursed monetarily to minimum amount of Rs 200000 from the bank
for the frustration and waste of my valuable time , due to fault solely of the bank .
Thanking You
Kind Regards
