Tata DoCoMo CDMA Prepaid Online Recharge – Duped – A Review

I am shocked and pained to know that such a large business conglomerate like the Tatas is fleecing people by promoting a double talk time top-up for its Tata DoCoMo CDMA Prepaid customers. Once trapped, one is forced to purchase only a double talk time topup in perpetuity. I wonder why the TRAI allows telecom companies to indulge in daylight robbery by permitting such schemes? For over two years I was able to purchase topups for my Tata DoCoMo CDMA Prepaid connection online without any difficulty at tatadocomo.com. But recently, I made a tragic mistake by buying a Rs 100/= topup offline from a shop nearby. Not only was the call rate of this topup prohibitively expensive, but it was also being sold by shops without any indication whatsoever that it was a double talk time offer.

To add salt to the injury inflicted on me, all topups and special recharge vouchers have been disabled online at tatadocomo.com. Even a 1 paisa balance prevents me from making topups online. All the available avenues for complaining (phone, email, chat, etc.) have been exhausted without any resolution in sight. This is not what we customers sign up for. Let this complaint also serve as a warning to anyone considering purchase of a double talk time plan from Tata DoCoMo. Complaint Number: PRRG12849620
