I bought a tata photon device with my laptop on december 2012. I was told that if i paid Rs. 750 in advance then i will get 1 month unlimited usage free. My device got activated on 23rd december 2012. After using the device for about 12 days i realized its service is not as good as promised. First of all the usage was not unlimited. Second the network was really really bad. So instead of paying Rs.850 every month for a device that doesn’t works properly i decided to ask for a diconnection before they could charge me. I called customer care on 6th january 2013 and explained them the situation and asked them for disconnection of my device. After recieving my request they didnt disconnected my device instead they send me a bill on 12-january-2013 for Rs. 250. I didn’t even used the device for one month and they send me a bill for it even when i had already asked for disconnection of services. I called up their customer care again and again explaining them that there has been a mistake from their side but nobody decided to help me. Sometimes they say our systems are not working, sometimes they just cut my phone call. Everyday their collections department called me up and talk rude to me. They used to call me everyday and scare me as well for the payment but nobody was ready to help. Then i complained about them in consumer complaints and they stopped calling me and they send me a message on my phone on 21-03-2013 that my service request has been resolved. I went to local shop and they told me that they can’t send a refund request because my device is disconnected. Then After few days collections department called me up again someone name Mr. Prakash Edward. He called on 9-april-2013 and started asking money for disconnection of device, he said your device is still activated and he said i didn’t followed a proper procedure for disconnection of the device. This is ironic since local store people told me that device is disconnected and there is nothing they can do. They contacted me some more times and offered me a discount and they said sir please pay only Rs. 600 after that you can use your device as prepaid. After that TATA legal cell contacted me couple of times and i explained them the situation, they said they will help but nobody did anything. On 28-10-2013 i received a call from Tiz hazari court that a lawyer named Mr. R.K. Gupta whose client is Tata Teleservices Ltd. filed a complaint against me for ‘Intentionally cheating’ and the fine was for Rs. 65000. I talked to Mr. R.K. Gupta and after that they told me my due amount is Rs. 1185. I made the payment because i cannot handle these things anymore. But this is not going to stop me to inform everyone about my situation. Tata Teleservices Ltd. is a very reputed company and their customer handling skills are 0%. I dont blame anyone else but Tata Teleservices Ltd. alone for this mishap with me. This is what called abuse of power in our free country, just because i am a consumer that does not means
I am ready to pay for what i have used and i already have paid as well. They should acknowledge this and accept the mistakes they have done on their end and offer me a proper refund. They can deduct what i owe them but damages they have done to me personally and professionally and not to mention mentally, all the money i spend visiting their centers and calling them on the phone. Atleast they should reimburse me for that.
