On 6th march 2013, I have made complaint with the Grievance Cell of Insurance Company for Non-Compliance of request and unethical practice. I request the Insurance Company to cancel my policy and refund of premium amount. The Insurance Company replied on 7th March 2013 against my mail of 6th March, the Insurance Company cunningly attached the Confirmation Letter in this mail and asked me that they will see the same was dispatched to my mailing address. On 9th March 2013, I again requested to the Insurance Company for cancellation of my policy and refund of Premium amount. The Insurance Company replied on 9th march but that is of no use, nothing written clearly in that mail.
On 11th March 2013, I again requested to the Insurance Company to cancel my policy. The Insurance Company replied on 12th March 2013 that I have crossed the Free Look cancellation period and therefore the policy could not be cancelled. On 18th March 2013, I have sent detail mail regarding correspondence with Insurance Company to the Insurance Company but all in vein as the Insurance Company is not considering request being total default on his side.
On 19th March 2013, the Insurance Company replied in the following manner:
“This message has a reference to your email dated March 18,2013 with regards to request for cancellation of policy.
As per our records your policy document initially were dispatched through Blue dart with AWB No. 40401463944 on 11/12/2012 and the same was returned to us for which we did redispatch the same through Speed post on EA732694152IN on 18/12/2012.
Incase if you are not satisfied with terms and conditions of our policy the same should have intimated to us within 30 days from the date of delivery.
Since we did not receive your request within the specified time I regret to inform you that we wont be able ot accede with your request for cancellation. “
This is a clear case of deficiency in service and unethical business practice. The Insurance Company has intentionally delayed in giving clear / proper reply for the request made so that a time of 30 days can be passed. The Insurance Company with a frivolous intention didn’t reply on time to make lapse of Free Look Time. I have saved all the mails in my inbox and I can provide full correspondence with the Insurance Company if required ? Further, if the terms and conditions of the Policy are not acceptable to me, how can I continue with the policy for no use ?
The Insurance Company responds in such tricky manner only to grab the premium amount. The Insurance Company never sends me a Confirmation Letter regarding my request for change in Life style Habit
In view of the above, I request you to take proper action against the Insurance Company and suggest them to refund my Premium Amount with fine by cancelling the policy. I don’t wish to continue my policy like such unethical company.
