I was in Mumbai from November 2011 to March 2012 on official duty where I took a postpaid connection from Vodafone. My number was 9833146967. I relocated to Kolkata then, and used the number only for a couple of days. I requested one of my colleagues in my Mumbai Office to place the request of disconnection to Vodafone. After I came back to Kolkata, I paid the bill for the period of 1st April to 30th April 2012 also since I used the number on roaming in the first part of April 2012. Then I received another bill for May 2012 which I did not pay. Then again, a bill for June 2012 was sent which I received on 4th July 2012. Upon receiving this bill, I wrote an email to Vodafone on 9th July 2012 expressing my keenness for disconnection of services. I received a mail from Vodafone on 11th July 2012, mentioning that service to the number has been suspended from 3rd July 2012 due to non-usage. They also wrote that the request for disconnection has been forwarded to the concerned section, and they would contact me within 48 hours. However, nobody contacted me ever since. Since in their mail dated 11th July 2012 they wanted me to pay the amount due, I did the same and paid Rs 711.79 on 9th August 2012 upon receiving their bill dated 7th August 2012. I have been receiving bills regularly since then. I received a legal notice also which I replied to on 17th January 2013. I have not paid any of these bills. However, in January 2013, one of my colleagues in Mumbai whose number was given as the alternate numbers, started receiving calls from Vodafone. I then decided to do away with the problem, and paid their bill dated 25th January 2013 on 30th January 2013. I was in Mumbai again on 30th January 2013, and made the payment in Vodafone’s Churchgate outlet. While making the payment I enquired whether I can continue using the number since again I was to be stationed there upto March 2013. They confirmed that the number is permanently disabled and hence the same cannot be used. I took a new connection since the old connection could not be revived. Since then I received a couple of bills with negative (-) balances until I received another bill on 1st May 2013 showing Rs 13.30 as the outstanding amount. I immediately paid the same. However, the saga continues as they are sending bills relentlessly which I refuse to pay.
I want immediate stoppage of bills, and refund of money which I had to pay for period after April 2012
