I had to go overseas ( Thailand and China) for a 5 day trip. Before my travel on 19 Nov 2013, I called up Vodafone customer care to know if my data plan would be ON while I am out of India. I also queried if BBM/Watsapp?Internet would be free. I was told it would be free and the plan would work exactly the same way as it is working in India. My bill generated on 7 Dec 2013 is of 56000.00 INR. This was a huge surprise to me. Since that day I have been contacting Vodafone but I am only getting responses that they are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Infact , in my previous emails to Vodafone I got replies “We regret for the inconvenience and delay caused to you” and it was acknowledged in the email from dated 11 Dec 2013 in the following words: “Further, we understood the concern regarding call centre you have been experienced. We really regret for the same, we will try to provide best services in future from our side”. My only concern is the assurance that was given to me when I called Vodafone customer care prior to my travel. I had a better option of using a Matrix Overseas prepaid card but I denied the offer and went ahead with using Vodafone services solely based on the confirmation from the customer care.
Out of the Rs. 56000.00, I am willing to pay of Rs. 11000 which are the call and sms costs but the internet (gprs )charge of rs. 45000.00 is something for which Vodafone is responsible. I do not know who do I approach to get this sorted as writing to Vodafone is not helping me since past 1.5 months.
